The Bottle Design
The Chiavaye bottle is very discreet and blends nicely with my other toiletries on my bedside table. However, having said that, the large “safe for sensitive skin” wording on the bottle led my husband to believe it was facial moisturizer… And well, I’m sure you can figure how that turned out.
Chiavaye’s website boasts some additional important information about the bottle. The discreet black bottle is made from pharmacy-grade glass. This protects the lubricant from light to maintain its strength and purity over time, extending the shelf-life.
Ingredients & Use
Looking at the ingredient list, I recognize all of them by name and have no difficulty pronouncing them. The fact that it is paraben-free, glycerine-free, and silicone-free is very important to me. And though it contains coconut oil, it’s sugar-free, lessening the risk of a yeast infection. Silicone lubricant is great when you don’t want to go back for reapplication or want to play in the water, but I prefer all-natural ingredients like those in this lubricant. Also, silicone lube can’t be used with all toys, and Chiavaye is safe to use with any toy, regardless of material. However, it has not been evaluated for use with condoms.
This lubricant is so different than other lubricants I have used. It is non-scented and is literally smooth as silk. It did require another application midway through, but what I loved most about it was it was the first time I’ve ever had a lubricant not leave traces of its existence all over me afterwards! And again, the pump bottle made it especially easy for use.
Chiavaye isn’t just great for sexual use, though. It can also be used to regulate vaginal dryness, to moisturize nipples during breastfeeding, and even to remove make-up.
Overall
Chiavaye is designed for and by women. It’s multi-faceted, with a beautiful, subtle bottle, multiple uses, and all natural ingredients. While it requires some reapplication, the user-friendly pump makes that no hassle at all. This is a product I know is safe for my body.
